Hey friends... As this tour blog is long overdue, we would liketo lead with a handicap and tell you with aching back andweary bone that we are terribly sorry for our tardiness. Wehope we can still be friends and possibly more than friends atsome point soon very soon. (The road is lonely)

Anywhore,our current tour with Christina Perri has been anotherenchanted corner in the secret garden of the music world.s like a mystical tattooed fairy princess blessing us withher crystal wand of pop‐rock and pearly white smileseveryday. Also her band is bad‐ass and possesses that you in the face kind of attractiveness.

As most summer tours can get a little toasty, I think its safeto say that this summer on the road has been hotter than thetongues of fire emanating from the late great Ronnie Jamess mouth and nostrils. Arizona in particular nearly cookedus into a chicken pot oh my god Im gonna die pie.Heat strokes aside, the shows have been amaze‐balls. Wehave made so many new friends and fans and are just so damnexcited and grateful. Starting out on the glamour side of town,we played our first show in Las Vegas at the bedazzled andmost likely vajazzled Cosmopolitan Casino. Consisting of asmall Santo family reunion and the usual first show asskicking,we were booted swiftly into pro mode, where onezen‐like professionalism and focus is matched only by thevolume of alcohol consumed. (We do not encourage orapprove of the use of intoxicating beverages by those belowthe legal age.)

Still dripping with perspiration and beset by delicateemotions, we moseyed on through Arizona and Texas red inthe cheeks and ready for the sweet noise. Tuscon, Austin andDallas were particularly rad. We even had the lottery winningfortune of staying with Mr. and Mrs. Rick Perry (the parents ofour very dear LA friends) in Dripping Springs Texas where wewere treated to a good nights sleep and a home cookedsouthern style breakfast in the morning. God bless bacongrease.

After a quick skeedaddle and a sweet, sweaty show inNashville we had the great pleasure to finally meet our newmusical family at Lost Highway Records, one of the fewremaining bastions of badass in the record industry who wehonored to have as our partners in the release and distributionof our upcoming Billy Jack record.

Hello There

It's been awhile. Like the first phone call after an exhilarating and punishing one night stand, the time between had left us unsure of what to say...and how to say it. Struggle yields growth, however, and here we are, ready at last to resume our lives' delicate pitter-patter on the roof of your mind.

So...on to the news of this letter!

Without bursting your bubble, I'll admit that the new news is the old news, it's just gotten closer. The record is still coming out (though some of you may already have it), we're still going back on the road in 3 weeks and we still have all our fingers and toes. Not that there haven't been some subtle, nay, monumental changes! If you made it out to any of the May shows with Xavier Rudd, you saw the duo show, a show to which we have added additional length and girth by applying the vacuum pump that is two more band members and rigorous rehearsal.

On drums, we have Mr. Gerry Porter....

Cleveland native and Sonny Corleone look alike. We came across Gerry while scavenging the icky wilds of LA, searching for a badass drummer. We found one. It's who I've just been describing.

And JP Maramba...

A longtime associate and one of our favorite people to look around and see playing music with us. Also one of the proud crowd who can say they've smoked weed with Willie Nelson.

So come July 16th, off we will embark with these two fellows as well as a tour manager named, (no joke), Brian Wilson to join Ms. Christina Perri on her national headlining tour. Though at the time of this letter we have yet to meet Christina face to face, I will say that she sent us the kindest email from an artist we've supported that we've ever received.

Now to do the true job of an intro and actually intro what you will find in this newsletter here: words from Ms. Santo, a peek inside the noggin of Ms. Christina Perri and some highlights from our last tour. Also, don't let the love radiating from our minds to yours go unnoticed.

END OF THE ROAD (FOR NOW)

We wake up in a puddle of sweat and crusty vomit, none of it our
own. New Orleans has been cruel to us. It took our money at the
craps table and loosened our bowels with shrimp po boys and
rabbit stews. As this month of cutting sexual tension and rompery
with Xavier Rudd begins its end and the alcoholic haze becomes
an impenetrable fog, the memories start flooding back
Minneapolis. First Avenue is the batcave. Springing forth from
Princes tiny tiny hips in the mid-eighties, this club brought our
rock to a new level after we were finally asked to leave the venue
by an afrod stagehand who had enough of us playing fruit ninja
with real knives backstage and filling the parking garage with
mystery smoke.
Milly Wa Kay. The cavernous Turner ballroom treated us to a
stellar buffet table and slightly apathetic crowd. We tried all the
tricks: playing with no underwear, bringing a live bear onstage and
re-enacting scenes from A few Good Men. Unfortunately we
couldnt handle the truth and left early to get a head start on the 32
hour journey to Cleveland.
Cleveland was a whirlwind of Italian food, yipping dogs, and a
family reunion that left an anonymous Honey feeling both the
warmth of family and the mystery of whether that cute dude in the
corner could be her cousin.
As a matter of historical record, we would also like to note that
we are responsible for the most punk rock event at the Grog Shop
rock club in the past 10 to 15 years after we sped through an
intersection, hopped the curb and screeched to a halt on the
sidewalk, inches in front of the door. Shouting, Gotchya
bitches!
DC. Best sounding show of the tour.
Niagra Falls. Most Native Americans of the tour. To welcome
Xavier Rudd there was a drum circle and chant by a local tribal
group that left us awed, making it that much harder to choke down
the northern New York Chinese food that exploded like sweet and
sour hand grenades in our stomachs.
New Haven. The Jaffe-est of all the shows, it was also
highlighted by such features as a blinding light, flashed by the old
man wintery looking lighting guy, and sound so bad that it made
Bens family question his career choices.
Charlotte was a welcome comfort as we found ourselves back
in the same venue we had previously jammed with our old friend
Gavin DeGraw, the smooth operator and heavy weaponry
enthusiast. It was a good show. Technically solid and creatively
daring as we stuck all of our double axles and added flourish to the
kick-ball-change combination we had been rehearsing all day.
Knoxville. A great show and a successful attempt at getting out of
a parking ticket by yelling, were broke! to the Jheri-curled
attendant.
Isle of Palms. We arrived at the Windjammer nightclub at about
5:00 and proceeded to rush into the ocean as a team, giggling and
holding hands. Still slightly damp, we played our set to a small
crowd and then quickly boned out to reach a Santo family home a
couple hours south. Minutes away from our destination and with
everyone but Mouse asleep, we awoke to the sound of screeching
brakes and the sight of a goddamm real-life alligator who skittered
away fast enough to kill our gator hunting dreams immediately.

As we lay to rest the final glowing embers of our tour with Uncle
Rudd, we feel fulfilled by the endless adventures we have
experienced in the past few weeks, however sore in the ass we may
be. We miss you terribly. Well talk to you soon, and just because
we didnt call you doesnt mean were not thinking about you.

On The Road: Week II

So after a few kick ass shows in San Francisco, Seattle, Antarctica, and Portland, team honeyhoney was able to get to the truly important task of burning through the first season of the critically acclaimed dramatic series, Madmen. First and foremost, we think its important for you to know that Betty Draper, spouse to ad impresario Don Draper, is not to be underestimated as a simple minded and meek house wife. Just because Don spends the majority of his spare time cutting the corners of reality with a double life and extremely attractive mistresses doesnt mean that Betty is on the losing end. Wed like to think that she is simply planning her moves stealthily, like the crazy honey badger that, once bitten by a king cobra still manages to get back up and hunt for adventures after a short nap.

Now were not picking sides here, but in all honestly we believe that broadening his white bread comfort zone by dating Jewish-American power house Rachel Menken (on the side), might actually be quite healthy for Dons emotional growth. The 60s and their rigid social norms can really have a tenacious hold on ones ability to think outside of the and we as honeyhoney know that you need to get into ALL types of boxes if you want to free the sparkling eagle inside.

We are more like Don than wed like to admit however. For instance, Bens real name is Francisco Rosnes and my real name is Pattie LaBelle. Mouses real name is Rabbit. We find much comfort and solace in our ability to relate to this dark-hearted man and his sexysexy double life. The road, being our double life, consists of eating ridiculous foods like fried fish sandwiches, the entire line of past due Pepperidge Farms cookie and cracker products, and consuming road pops, acts we would NEVER partake in at home.

We are currently on hour 35 of our drive from Portland to Minneapolis after a brief 12 hour detour to Aspen to pick up Cody, our reckless mountain concubine for the next week or so. Morale is high, clothing is optional and the party bus continues on.

On The Road: Week 1

Dear Friends,

A brief summary of the past week.

1. We arrived in Salt Lake City like the Joad family, van piled high with all our
belongings, starving for attention and food. We were headed toward a man
named Cameron Rafatis house who had left his room empty for us to stay in.
After a casual look around and sly rifling through his belongings, we deduced that
this man is a giant with a fine nose for high-end cologne and size 17 shoes. (On a
side note, if youre ever plotting your own tour, go couch surfing route. The
adventure level is so much higher than spending every night in a hotel room.)
After a couple hours of sleep we left the Rafati house with a full supply of fruit
snacks, bananas and Ambien provided to us by Camerons lovely housemate
Jill, a former opera singer and buxom wild woman. We headed for what turned
out to be a delightful radio interview with a man named Ebay Hamilton at 90.9, a
Salt Lake City independent station. He told us that yes, this was his real name
and he had even been sent a cease and desist order by ebay.com when he set up
his own website. After a successful and intimate performance on Ebays show, we
headed to the State Room where we were booked as a headlining act, something
that rarely happens so far away from our home turf. In a surprise turn, we
received a double encore, which we were totally unprepared for. In that situation
youre presented with two options. Either youre a douche and say no to a crowd
of people who just want you to do your job, or say yes and play that song that you
havent played in 6 months and may not know the lyrics to. We opted for the
latter. (On a side note, what are your thoughts on the whole planned encore
phenomenon? These things are supposed to be spontaneous as well the best part
of the show. Thats a tall order. What would you do if we tapped you on the
shoulder and asked you to piss a jar of pure gold when you just got out of the
bathroom? Needless to say we squeezed out what we could and were proud to
say the least.)
Notable places: Red Iguana Cantina. Spanish olive garnish on a broiled Tilapia filet?
Holy balls.
Next stop was Aspen, where the beer flows like wine, the women flock like the
salmon of Capistrano and the Dumb and Dumber quotes are endless. On the drive
through the mountains a bald eagle flew over our van, blessing our journey, and we
picked up Cody Webb, a rugged mountain man who let us stay on his couch while he
drank all of our Jack Daniels. The show that night was our first with Xavier Rudd, who
blew our minds and rattled our bowels with his one- man didgeridoo-blowing jam fest.
Suzanne note to self: When engaging in deep leans or bends while onstage, be
cautious of panty flashing crowd shots. Or at least be prepared with top-drawer sex kitten
undies.
We woke up midmorning on the 28th and made the treacherous trek through the Rocky
Mountains to Denver. When we got there we were taken out to dinner by Chuck Morris,
the emperor of Colorado, and a legend in the concert promotion business. With his
blessing we rocked the 1500 person capacity Ogden Theatre with ferocity and broke a
merchandise sales record. This was the night that led us to conclude that the Colorado
music fan is perhaps the most joyous and giving of them all.
We spent the night with JB and Michelle, the mother and father of two University of
Miami-obsessed boys and the couple that Suzanne Santo models her romantic dreams
after. We stayed up late drinking Coloradoan whisky and playing with all the nerf guns
in the basement until we finally fell asleep to the sound of us not caring about the Royal
Wedding.
We took the next two days to make our way down to San Diego, a show that, despite
some of the mega-hotties we met, left us with a touch of the blue balls. A quick drive to
LA and a full band show allowed us to unloose the juice however and we continued our
West Coast leg with a renewed sense of passion and a pocket full of kryptonite.

THERE WILL BE A VAN

We had a mission. Get a van. Don't spend a month developing back spasms by cramming three people, a months worth of luggage, and a stage's worth of gear into a silver Jeep Patriot, the chihuahua of SUV's. The hope instead was that we would be able to find a 15-seater, luxuriously spacious for 3, with an auxiliary jack and a power inverter. Basically a mobile studio apartment. Turns out however, that these things can run a little pricey and when you're a band on a budge like ol' honeyhoney here, you're firmly placed in the, " bargain hunting" category. The gauntlet had been thrown down. Shying away from the whole, "legitimate" van rental scene, I found a place in West LA that leaned heavily on the fact that they had car rentals for 10 dollars a day and a " we won't turn you down!" credit policy. I called them up. A man with a thick accent picked up the phone without really mentioning the name of the business and listened to me describe what we were looking for.

" A hundred dollars a day". he said.
" Well, actually we've gotten some quotes for much less then tha-"
"30 dollars a day." he cut me off

I was a bit taken aback as the man had just dropped 70 percent of his asking price at what amounted to me pointing out that there were others in the van rental field but my deal-lust pushed me on. After a few more perfect answers and a look at some pictures on the internet I decided that we had found our van. Before we committed completely to it however we were going to have to see the place in person, if not the van itself which they said would be gone until just before we needed it.
We showed up a few days later, unannounced, with me nervous and hoping that I would be the miracle-van hero. We arrived at what turned out to be a body/chop? shop that looked like a high desert meth lab. Greeted by a woman who looked genuinely shocked that someone had walked into her place of business, Suzanne and I explained why we were there and watched her argue for a few minutes with a mustachioed man about whether the van was there or not. Turns out it was and a surly kid in Kanye West sunglasses was summoned to lead us to it, and presumably, treat us like nice people who wanted to give him some money in exchange for a service. After insisting that we follow him in our car as opposed to getting into his, we, and our tour manager Mouse, followed him around a few winding streets to find a white van blocking a driveway. At this point I realized the importance of good lighting in sales photography. The van looked about 10 years older than it did online and was cratered and dented like a moon rock.

" Its a little dirty" said Kanye,

Suzanne, who was muttering threateningly under her breath, gave the passenger side door a few futile yanks before it sprang open to reveal scattered cheetos and the overpowering smell of air-freshener. I turned the ignition and the engine groaned alive to the sound of early 90's r&b in the tape deck and Kanye explaining that a female comedian had rented the van for the prior 6 months with the intention of buying but had suddenly gotten cold feet. He couldn't tell me why.

Suffice to say we didn't get the van. Hope was regained though when Mouse wheeled and dealed her way into a 12 seater that we're checking out tomorrow. Here's to second chances.
